Purisalv is a weight loss supplement that promises to “increase your metabolism, suppress your appetite and boost your energy levels.”
Although Purisalv might not seem that much different from other weight loss supplements at a glance, we were intrigued with this product when we found out it uses only uses one ingredient!
So we dug a little deeper into Purisalv to see if it can really do with one ingredient, what many supplements can’t with over twenty!!!
Purisalv: Pros
Fortunately, this one ingredient of Purisalv’s is completely natural and very unlikely to cause any negative side effects.
What is this ingredient? Chia seeds.
According to Purisalv, chia seeds aren’t just used for growing cute pottery pets! Purisalv’s website is devoted to touting chia seeds as the next superfood.
Externally chia is purported to induce youthful, glowing skin, increase weight loss, build lean muscle, reduce appetite cravings and increase energy levels and stamina.
Internally chia normalizes blood sugar levels, improves digestion and cholesterol, reduces inflammation in joints and gives the user a feeling of overall wellbeing.
Why? Because chia:
• Is loaded with Omega 3 fatty acids!
• Is high in protein/low in carbohydrates!
• Is rich in antioxidants!
• Is high in fiber!
Two daily 20 gram (or 1.5 oz total) dosages are recommended for optimal–and overall–health!
Purisalv: Cons
Unfortunately, Purisalv spends more time touting the benefits of chia as a superfood than actually explaining how it can help you lose weight.
Of course chia’s high fiber content will help with digestion so your intestinal lining is healthy and properly utilizing the nutrients you eat–moving out the ones you don’t need. And fiber will also give you a feeling of “fullness.”
And proteins will help you burn fat optimally, while chia’s low carbohydrate content can prevent blood sugar from spiking.
But honestly while adding chia to your diet may help with weight loss, it’s not going to increase metabolic rate and other factors covered by top diet pills.
What’s more, there are many quotes from various celebrities, and publications stating that Purisalv is unparalleled in almost every area of health. However Purisalv includes no scientific evidence on how it actually affects the body.
All the “proof” backing Purisalv’s effectiveness seems to lie in celebrity endorsements. And although these endorsements are from credible sources like Dr. Oz and Time Magazine, none of them can be authenticated.
In fact, some of the quotes that Purisalv uses can be directly refuted.
For example, they claim that Christopher MacDougall refers to chia as the Tarahumara Indians’ secret to “super-athletic success.” In reality, MacDougall said that the Tarahumara ate “pinole”–and didn’t refer to Chia at all!
Purisalv Side Effects
The use of chia in people who suffer from high triglycerides in the blood can be dangerous. This is because some forms of chia can increase these triglyceride levels even higher!
Also chia contains a high volume of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) which has been shown to increase the risk of prostate cancer if consumed in high dosages.
If you’re concerned about supplementing with chia, please consult your physician before taking Purisalv.
Our Opinion on Purisalv
Although Purisalv is most likely safe and not going to leave you with lasting, negative side effects, we can’t recommend this product.
Because there is so much interest in health and nutrition these days, there is also a lot of opportunity to make money off the sensation of a new health food.
We saw it with acai; this berry went from ice cream additive to billion-dollar market. However, it was soon revealed as a sham and a way to swindle people’s money.
We recommend instead these top-rated diet pills. They are high in effectiveness, and low on side effects!
Good luck!
